Celebrating Women’s History Month at Compass Group Canada
This post was published on April 8, 2026At Compass Group Canada, we are committed to creating an inclusive culture where associates can develop, learn and succeed.
During Women’s History Month, we celebrated the women of Compass Group Canada by featuring four exceptional associates on LinkedIn, we hosted a keynote and workshop on “Thriving as a Neurodivergent Woman at Work” and we announced that Compass Group Canada was named a Best Workplaces for Women 2026 a true testament to the strong corporate culture we are building – together.
As we reflect on this year’s Women’s History Month, we are excited to shine a spotlight on our Women in Culinary Showcase, a valued Compass Group program.
The Women in Culinary Showcase brings together 30 chefs from Compass Group North America, centred on leadership, collaboration, and culinary innovation. Now in its 6th year, it is a signature career development program that elevates culinary excellence, strengthens leadership capability, and serves as a global networking event for our chefs to learn and grow from and with one another. The learnings, connections and opportunities that this program offers our participants, is an example of how we support and celebrate women all year long – not just in March. Our commitment to empowering and mentoring women in culinary continues every single day of the year and is one of our guiding priorities as an organization.
This year, we proudly congratulate Chef Oula Al-Hissnawe, Regional Executive Chef with Marquise Hospitality and Chef Ngan Tran, Chef Manager with Chartwells Canada for representing Compass Group Canada at the showcase hosted in North Carolina earlier this month.
“Being surrounded by such talented and passionate women in our industry at the Women in Culinary Showcase created an atmosphere that was both empowering and motivating. It was a wonderful space to connect, share stories, and learn from each other’s journeys in culinary leadership,” said Chef Oula Al-Hissnawe. “Hearing the different perspectives and experiences from women across Compass was incredibly powerful. Seeing so many accomplished women leading the way reinforced how impactful it is to create opportunities for the next generation of women culinary professionals.”
“Hearing so many inspiring stories from fellow women chefs made the Women in Culinary Showcase an incredible experience. We learned about public speaking, presentation strategies, and networking—areas that chefs don’t often get exposure to, but which proved incredibly valuable,” said Chef Ngan Tran. “We explored future industry trends, collaborated with talented chefs to create menus, and had the opportunity to present our creations at the Global Board Meeting – an unforgettable and truly enriching experience.”
As we look back on Women’s History Month, we are proud to celebrate programs such as Women in Culinary. This showcase not only highlights the remarkable talent of our top female chefs, but it creates an opportunity for our participants to sharpen their skills, exchange ideas, build meaningful connections and expand what is possible for women in culinary.
At Compass Group Canada, our chefs are the heart and soul of our food service business. We believe that investing in our people fuels innovation, strengthens our culture, and deepens the impact our chefs create within the communities we serve every day.
