At Compass Group Canada, we’re committed to creating a significant, positive impact on the environment. From enterprise programs to daily actions in our kitchens, every decision contributes to a more sustainable food system. Sustainability is a clear priority for our teams, our clients, and our guests—because healthier operations support both people and the planet.
Our Planet Promise reflects who we are as an ethical, sustainable, and inclusive business—grounded in commitments to our people, clients, and suppliers. It guides how we source responsibly, enrich lives, and collaborate for global change across every part of our operations. With food systems responsible for a significant share of global emissions, we have the ability and determination to make a positive impact at scale — from plant-forward menus to root-to-stem culinary practices and smarter energy use. Compass Group is the first international company in the contract catering industry to set a global commitment to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. Planet Promise is the blueprint that steers our actions, investments, and continuous improvement.

Our Climate Net Zero commitment
Climate Net Zero means reducing emissions across our value chain to the lowest levels possible and addressing any remaining emissions through verified carbon removal. For Compass Group Canada, this commitment strengthens food systems, supports healthier communities, and fulfills our global sustainability responsibilities. Guided by UN Sustainable Development Goals 2 (zero hunger), 12 (responsible consumption and production), and 13 (climate action), our approach shapes how we operate and measure progress. This focus drives our 2030 goals, including major food waste reductions and significant cuts to Scope 1,2, and food-related Scope 3 emissions.
2030The 2030 milestone targets waste reduction, responsible sourcing, and carbon tracking, creating the foundation for long-term transformation across operations and the supply chain. These near-term actions prepare Compass Group for a broader shift toward fully integrating sustainability into menus, procurement, and decision-making.
2050By 2050, Compass Group aims to achieve Climate Net Zero across its entire value chain, translating UN SDG principles into concrete, measurable progress.
